Mr. Jack Fletcher Parnell died on December 7, 2016, after an extended illness at his residence. Jack was born in Forsyth County on November 12, 1929, to Daniel Franklin Parnell, Sr. and Maude Maybelle Swaim. He was a minister, serving at Tucker Street Church, Boyer's Chapel Church of Christ, Reedy Creek Church of Christ, and Church of Christ in Stewart, VA. He also worked for A&P Grocery and retired from Roger's American Food Broker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Opal Parnell; and three brothers; Larry Parnell, D.F. Parnell, and infant, Cyrus Parnell. Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Nancy Parnell; one brother in law, Burton Boner (wife Jeanette); one niece; and several nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. James Percival and Mr. Jerry Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Waughtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends on December 9, 2016, from 6-8pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Parnell family would like to send a special thank you to acquaintances, friends, care givers, and the staff at Miller Street Dialysis Center for all of their love, dedicated care, and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
