Jack Barnwell Parnell, Jr.

Jack Barnwell Parnell, Jr., 76, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026, at his residence. He was born on December 19, 1949, in Forsyth County, the son of Jack and Virgie Laramore Parnell. He attended Gospel Light Baptist Church and was a retired pipefitter with A.C. Corporation. An avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan, he loved fishing, woodworking and the mountains. Jack had a “Heart of Gold,” would do anything for anyone and was devoted to his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jack “Butch” Parnell, III and a grandson, L.J. Parnell. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Parnell; four daughters, Angie Borst (Justin) of Elon, Sarah Krokan of Winston-Salem, Ashton Cross (Matt) of Suffolk, VA. and Brittney Davis of Winston-Salem; a sister, Kathy Boykin (Charlie) of Tallahassee, FL; an uncle Gene Laramore of Kernersville; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
