Jackie Clinard

Jackie Ruark Burgess Clinard was born on April 13, 1934 to the late Will Henry and Ruby Burgess and went to be with Jesus on March 24, 2019. She was wife to Floyd Clinard, who proceeds her. She was a precious and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to Cindy (Lin) Jones, Tammy Moore and Marty (Ann) Clinard; Johnathan (Aubrey) Moore and Amy Moore; McKenna, Haven and Coben Moore. She gladly welcomed step grandchildren Hollie Burroughs and Hunter Aldridge to her family. She was the youngest sister to Jewel, Horace, Walter, Hazel, Reid, Reba and Melba. She was the last of the Burgess era, and now they are all reunited. She has several nieces and nephews and dearly loved them all.  She overcame many adversities in her life. Growing up she enjoyed playing basketball at Griffith High School and riding horses. She was blessed to have many cherished and faithful friendships, most beginning in childhood. The family is so grateful for her loving caregivers, Lucy Tenney, Sandy Horney and Deb Lewis.  She was a woman who taught her children and grandchildren the love of GOD, as it was most surely shown through her. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and attended as long as her health permitted. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with The Reverend Dr. Mary Miller officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers are appreciated, but she would have preferred memorial contributions made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Rd., Winston Salem, NC 27127.
