Jackie Ray 'Jack' Edwards

EDWARDS - TOBACCOVILLE Mr. Jackie Ray ""Jack"" Edwards, age 64, of Tobaccoville passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pulaski County, VA on October 21, 1947 to the late John Roy Edwards and Elsie Camilla Edwards. Mr. Edwards proudly served his country in the United States Army in Korea, Germany and Vietnam. He was a self-employed painter. Mr. Edwards loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson whom was the apple of his eye. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers. Surviving are his devoted wife, Kathy Barr Edwards; daughter, Sonya Karnes; and grandson, Zachary Karnes. A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Jerry Simpkins, Minister officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
