Jackie (Jack) Lee Ring, Sr, 85, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on December 28,1940, in Winston- Salem to the late Henry Thomas (Tom) and the late Evelyn Foy Ring. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and great-grand daughter. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Virginia. He took great pride in being a loving father to Jackie Ring, Jr (Anita), Jennifer Griffin (Chris) and Sonji Disher, who miss him dearly and the life lessons he imparted to them. He cherished his 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Jack graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1959. After high school, he went to work at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1960 and retired in 1995 with 35 years' service. Jack was a devoted Christian who cherished the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Jack loved being with his friends and family. He was a devoted Nascar fan, namely the 21 Ford of Wood Brothers Racing. He loved coaching North Forsyth Little League teams for 17 years. He was a friend to all.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Bethany Baptist Church. The family will receive friends before the service at noon. A graveside service will be conducted immediately following the service at Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Bethany Baptist Church, 600 Old Hollow Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 or St. Jude’s, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
