Jackie Lee Mustin

Jackie “Jack” Lee Mustin, of Clemmons, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 91. He was born on June 13, 1935, to Howard and Willie Mustin.

Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Mustin; his parents, Howard and Willie Mustin; and his sister, Peggy Ketner.

He is survived by his children, Myca (Tammy) Mustin, Erik (Julie) Mustin, and Kerri (David) Baxley, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought great joy and meaning to his life.

Jack lived a life marked by faith, service, hard work, adventure, and a love for people. He began his career with Piedmont Airlines in 1963 and retired in 1989. His passion for aviation began during his service in the military. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and later transferred to the United States Navy, where he became an aircraft mechanic. His love of airplanes continued throughout his life. In the late 1960s, he earned his private pilot’s license and proudly owned and restored a 1941 Piper Cub J-4 Coupe.

Jack was also an athlete and enjoyed staying active. He played golf on the Piedmont golf team and loved cycling, bowling, and softball. He had a naturally adventurous spirit and was always ready to go somewhere and try something new.

Some of Jack’s most treasured adventures were the many cross-country trips he took with Anne and their grandchildren. Those journeys created memories that his family will carry with them for generations. He loved to travel, but more than the destinations themselves, he loved the people he shared the journey with.

Jack’s faith in Christ was at the center of his life. He attended Piedmont Bible College and was a longtime member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. He also served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Salem Baptist Church . His faith was not simply something he professed—it was something he lived. He had a true servant’s heart and willingly gave his time, energy, and talents to others.

His desire to serve extended beyond his local community. Jack participated in missionary trips to Alaska, Honduras and Romania with his Calvary Baptist Church family. He had an adventurous spirit, but that spirit was rooted in a deeper purpose: to love God, serve others, and share the hope he had in Christ.

Jack will be remembered for his kindness, humility, dependability, curiosity, generosity, and willingness to help. He was a man who could fix things, teach things, tell stories, take you on an adventure, and make you feel that you were important to him. He loved his family deeply and leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond the accomplishments of his career or the places he traveled.

His family takes comfort in knowing that Jack’s earthly journey has ended, but his eternal journey has begun. His faith, his example, and the love he gave so freely will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives he touched.

A life of faith. A heart of service. An adventurous spirit. A legacy of love.

Jack will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Pastor Ben Farrell officiating.
