Jacob "Jake" Riley Diehl

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Jacob "Jake" Riley Diehl, 20, who unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His sudden departure has left his family deeply saddened and heartbroken, forever cherishing the memories shared with our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Despite his life being so brief, Jacob touched the lives close to him with his sweet loving nature.

Born on September 1, 2004, Jake was welcomed joyfully to this world by his mother, Kimberly Diehl, and father, Timothy Pettigrew.

Jacob graduated from West Forsyth High School, before continuing his education at Forsyth Technical Community College receiving a degree in electricity. He was a responsible and hard worker with ambition. Jacob was a handsome, kind, well mannered, reserved, humble, generous, respectable, and wholesome young man. He was truly loved by everyone. Our memories are eternal as we are thankful for having loved him, and we anticipate the joy of seeing him again. The impression he left behind settles deep within the hearts of those who loved him. May our lasting memories survive this tragic loss of eternal grief.

Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Thompson.

He leaves behind his precious sister, Mia, who will forever carry the memories of her brother close to her heart. Jacob is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Susan Diehl and Randy Golding; loving aunts, Jennifer, Lori and Tiffany; uncles, Jimmy and Jerry; cousins, Devin, who was more like his brother’s keeper, and sweet Bella and Alivia; paternal grandparents, Verna, Raymond, and Angela; as well as other extended Pettigrew and Savage family members; his cherished companions, Gizmo and BullsEye; and several close friends, too many to mention, who all loved him dearly.

A celebration of Jacob's life will take place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 4:00PM, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at 1:00PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. 

The family kindly asks that flowers in honor of Jacob be sent to Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.
