Jacqueline "Bunny" Ann Cummings

“Heaven gained an angel but our hearts lost a home”

Jacqueline "Bunny" Ann Clapp Cummings, 84, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Heritage Woods assisted living. 

Bunny was born on May 16, 1941, to the late Jasper “Jack” Clapp and Nell Loy Clapping in Greensboro, NC, before moving to Salisbury, 
NC where her family would remain throughout her childhood. 

Bunny worked many places, Farmers Dairy Bar, First Citizens Bank, but she best known for working at Salem Carpet Mills and Jack Clapp Tire. She was the kindest woman you would ever meet. Bunny had many loves, attending all sporting events, beach trips, trips to New York, and even Disney World, but above all, Bunny adored time with her family. She was an avid reader and was always up for a good movie at the theater, and let’s not forget her love of antiques.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Butch Clapp; and her sister, Susan Clapp. 

Surviving are her sister, Betsy Hamilton; her son, Mike Gudger (Marsha); her grandchildren, Steven Gudger (Tiffany), Haley Gudger, Laken Gudger (Brittney), and Ally Gudger; her great grandchildren, Cash, Camden, Maddox, and Brady; her nieces, Katie Cowden Goggin (Kevin), Alex Hamilton Cleland (George) and Bailey Clapp; and her great nieces and nephew, Lulu, Georgie, and Clara.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Heritage Woods and Trellis Supportive Care of Winston Salem, NC, for all of their support.

There will be a private family service held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston Salem, North Carolina 27103.
