Jahala Lambert Almond

Mrs. Jahala Lambert Almond passed away peacefully Saturday, May 6, 2017. Born August 14, 1935 in Albemarle, NC to Fannie and Paul Lambert, Jahala was a loving and patient wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her husband Charles have faithfully attended Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, NC for 46 years. Jahala will be fondly remembered for her ability to sew beautiful clothes, her skill at growing almost anything in her garden, and for the delicious meals she prepared for her large family. Jahala survives in the hearts of the family who love her: Charles Almond, her husband of 60 years; daughters Teresa Almond, Loretta (Jeff) Allen, and Paula Almond (Karen Ravert); sons David (Angie) Almond, Philip (Debra) Almond, and Mark (Holly) Almond; grandchildren Jacqueline (Bob) Stillerman, Katherine Allen, Lauren Allen, Brittany Almond, Allie Cross, Megan Almond, Brandon Almond, Cristine Almond, Faith Almond, and Hope Almond; and great-granddaughter Mary Allen Stillerman. Also surviving are Jahala's sisters: Louise Burleson, Faye (Belvin) Terry, Nancy Eudy, and brother Dwight (Judy) Lambert. A celebration of Jahala's life will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Monday May 15, 2017 at 1 0:00am. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 14 from 6:00-8:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway.
