James "Corky" Robert Carmichael

James “Corky” Robert Carmichael, 87, entered the more immediate presence of our Lord and Savior on October 2, 2023, at Brookdale Reynolda Road. He was born in Forsyth County September 17, 1936, to the late John Wesley Carmichael and Mattie Lee Carmichael. James was employed by Wachovia Bank for thirty-four years. He was a member of Trinity Moravian Church Choir. James also was an Assist Scout Master for Troop 716 and was a Lifetime member of the Order of the Arrow Wahissa 118. James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sue Masten Carmichael; sons, Thomas Carmichael, Paul Carmichael (Dawn) and John Carmichael (Judy); grandchildren, Lauren Carmichael, Annastasia and Christopher Sturgill, Ryan Carmichael, Dillon Carmichael, Katherine Carmichael, Troy Swann and Tiffany Swann; brother, Clarence Carmichael (Hoagy). A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 6, 2023, at Trinity Moravian Church with Rev. John Jackman officiating. A burial will immediately follow the service at God’s Acre graveyard. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
