Mr. James Monroe Dalton, 98, of Lewisville passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. He was known by “Monroe” to his family and friends. Monroe was born in Yadkin County to the late Willie Davis Dalton and Sarah Doub Dalton on June 13, 1922. Monroe served his country in The United States Marines during WWII and Korea. He was a member of Union UMC, in Lewisville. He retired from Nabisco Inc. with over 40 years of service. Monroe also was an instructor with Dale Carnegie Association. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Rev. George Dalton; Don Dalton; Worth Dalton and Robert Dalton. He is survived by a brother, Frank Dalton; 5 sisters, Virginia Townsend; Ida McHargue; Rosie Burton; Eleanor Thompson and Carol Deaton; several nieces and nephews. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
