James Johnson

James E. Johnson, 85, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home. He was born in Charleston, W. VA on March 4, 1932 to the late Charles Lewis and Hester Wood Johnson. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Korea. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. Preceding him in death were two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Frances Drake Johnson; son, Steve Johnson (Linda) of Florida; grandson, Jeremy Johnson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Thomas Clocker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
