James Fields

Oak Ridge – Mr. James Leroy Fields, 85, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at his residence. James was born April 30, 1934 to the late Howard James Fields and Ruth Elizabeth Ackerman. He married the love of his life, Shirley Finney on July 18, 1955. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Fields.

He is survived by, his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Finney Fields, four children; one son, James Arthur Fields (Stephanie), three daughters; Carol A. Fields, Christine Durant (Kevin), Karen Fields, six grandchildren; Aaron Brown, Kristy Farmer, Adam Rash, Mitchell Fields, Jory Rash, and Nicole Wade, 9 great grandchildren, two sisters; Helen Kay Spooner, and Bonnie Bartosek.

Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time, a private family service will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to AuthoraCare 2500 Summit Avenue, NC 27405, or to Saint Matthews Episcopal Church, 110 Salisbury Street Kernersville, NC 27284.
