James Clyde Hicks

Mr. James Clyde Hicks, 78 of Winston-Salem died Friday, March 21, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 7, 1936 in Surry County, the son of the late, James Edgar and Nonnie Simmons Hicks. Mr. Hicks was a veteran of the US Army and was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was one of seventeen siblings. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Collins Hicks; one son, Tommy (Teresa) Hicks; two daughters, Donna Carter and Danita (Don) Henderson; and seven grandchildren, Crystal Carter, Aron (Taylor) Foltz, Jamey Carter, Tisha Mahon, Gillian (Jordon) Sprinkle, Jacob Hicks and Amaya Henderson; two great grandchildren, Holden Foltz and Brody Sprinkle. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Josh Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory with full military honors. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
