James Lester Hill

Mr. James Lester Hill, 91, passed away November 18, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 9, 1922 to the late Robert Lester Hill and Bessie Alley Hill. Mr. Hill was a member of Chandler's Grove United Methodist Church. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 35 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an avid woodworker and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Hill, a son, Larry Hill, and a granddaughter, Kathy Hill. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Parrish and husband Harvey; a son, Stephen Hill; seven grandchildren, Chris Parrish, Chastity Hartsell, Justin Hill, Austin Hill, Tanner Hill, Morgan Hill, and Scott Hill; ten great-grandchildren, Cayla Hartsell, Beck Hartsell, Badin Hartsell, Max Parrish, Addie Parrish, Sam Parrish, Stephen Hill, Talen Hill, Logan Hill, and Austin Hill. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. Derald Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
