James "Rudy" Hooker

         Mr. James “Rudy” Rudolphus Hooker, 74, passed away on December 22, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on June 25, 1949, in Stuart VA, to the late Meggs Hooker and Jane Hall Hooker. Rudy loved being outdoors and enjoying nature. He was always working outside on a farm, priming tobacco, laying brick, or at the sawmill in his younger years. Later in life, Rudy was a homebody. In addition to his parents, his is preceded in death by his sister, Rhonda Hooker and brother, Gerald Hooker. Rudy is survived by his three sisters, Helen Hooker, Debora Hooker of the home, and Linda Smith of Walnut Cove, two brothers; Larry Hooker of the home, and Michael Hooker of Advance, several nieces and nephews, and his best buddy; Dwayne Moon. A graveside service will be held 3:00PM Thursday December 28, 2023, at Dan River Baptist Church Cemetery in Westfield with Pastor Rick Craig officiating.
