James "Jimmy" Lloyd Wiseman, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce on Sunday, June 28, 2026, the passing of James “Jimmy” Lloyd Wiseman, Jr., 64, a beloved companion of life, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, humor, and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He was born on May 17, 2026, to the late Grace Loretta Deviney Wiseman and James Lloyd Wiseman, Sr.

Jimmy was an automobile enthusiast through and through. Cars weren't just a hobby—they were his passion and his way of life. Whether he was diagnosing an engine by ear, or lending a hand to someone whose vehicle had broken down, he had an extraordinary gift for understanding anything with a motor. A true mechanical genius, there seemed to be no problem he couldn't solve. His garage was more than a workspace; it was a gathering place where friends, family, and neighbors came not only for repairs but for conversation, laughter, and advice.

Jimmy was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid NASCAR fan who rarely missed a race and enjoyed cheering for his favorite drivers. Whether at the track, watching from home or talking racing with family and friends, NASCAR brought him happiness throughout his life.

He found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved, creating memories with family and friends that will be cherished forever. His unwavering love, humor, and fun spirit shaped the lives of everyone around him.

Above all else, Jimmy's greatest source of pride was his family. Nothing meant more to him than his family including his beloved daughters, Emily and Crystal, and his cherished grandchildren, Ciara, Amir and TJ. He spoke of them with immense love and pride, and they were the light of his life. The time he spent with them and the memories they created together will forever be treasured.

Known for his generous heart, Jimmy never hesitated to help someone in need. Whether it was fixing a car, offering a helping hand, or simply being there to listen, he gave freely without expecting anything in return. His selflessness touched countless lives and is a legacy that will continue through those he inspired.

If you knew Jimmy, you knew laughter. His quick wit, infectious smile, and endless stories could brighten any room. A true social butterfly, he never met a stranger—only friends he hadn't made yet. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life made everyone feel welcome, valued, and appreciated.

Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his spirit lives on in every engine that roars to life, every shared laugh, every act of kindness, and every family and friend gathering filled with love. His legacy is one of compassion, generosity, humor, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved most.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and lovingly carried in the hearts of his family and friends.

Jimmy leaves behind memories, laughter, and love—and a legacy that will never be forgotten.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his companion of life, Debbie Richardson; his son, Brandon James Lypka-Wiseman; and his beloved grandmother/ bonus mom, Nancy Burton Bish.

Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Emily Wiseman and Crystal Thorne; his siblings, Nancy Wiseman Foster (Shawn), Johnny Wiseman (Janet), and Vivian Wiseman; his grandchildren, Ciara, Amir and TJ; countless nieces and nephews; along with many lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel from 12:00PM to 2:00PM. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00PM at the VFW Post #1134, 4129 S. Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Salem Cemetery.
