James Jones

Mr. James Lee Jones, 76, went home to be with the Lord October 7, 2017 at his residence. He was born February 16, 1941 in Clark County, Indiana to the late William Henry Jones and Inez Trimble Jones. James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 25 years. He was a faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Ambassador's Sunday School Class. James was a true patriot of his country, and his Christian faith was evident wherever he went. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Arthur. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gail Mckenzie Jones; one son James; two daughters Wendy and Shannon; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Kenneth, and Earl. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund, 1175 Bethania Rural Hall Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
