James Vernon McKnight

James Vernon McKnight, 74, of Clemmons, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 unexpectedly. He was born August 24, 1939, to the late James Madison McKnight and Vernal Masencup McKnight. Jim, in his retirement, enjoyed golf, church and time spent with his grandchildren who fondly knew him only as Pooh Pa. Survivors include two children, Mitch McKnight (Erica) and Jennifer Forrest; and two step children, Lance Tannehill and Taffy Lyle (Randy). Jim is also survived by four grandchildren, Mackenize and Ryan Forrest, Miller and Kingstin McKnight; two sisters, Carolyn Hutchins and Fredia Hayes; and one brother, David McKnight. Jim was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne McKnight; and one sister, Virginia Brown. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9 at Pinedale Christian Church with Mike Miller officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the family life center at Pinedale.
