James Locke Minford

James Locke Minford, 90, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Forsyth Hospital. Jim was born on May 23, 1927 in Nyack, NY to Harry Minford and Rozella Riker Minford. He was a faithful Christian and a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. In addition to his career in business, Jim was a veteran who served in the U. S. Army in WW II in Italy. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn McMonagle Minford, and their son, Jeffrey Minford. He is survived by his sister, Catherine Dodge, his wife of 45 years, Marilyn McGarrity Minford, as well as the families of their children: Cindi Minford Pinno of Jacksonville, Rick & Kris Cawood of Minneapolis, and Scott & Greer Cawood of Winston-Salem. Jim's grandchildren include Leah, Perry, Matthew, Justus, Danny, Betsy, and Emmie. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, and the family will receive friends afterward in Fellowship Hall.
