Mr. James Henry, ""J.H."", Plott, Jr., 91, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Advance, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at his home. He was born July 4, 1922 in Davie County to James Henry and Annie Mechum Plott. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Barnes Plott; one brother, Bobby Plott; and three sisters, Ruby Evans, Alice Dull and Kathryn Plott. Surviving are two daughters, Gail Walker and Nancy Harpe and husband Arnie; a son, James David Plott; five grandchildren, Jonathan Walker and wife Kathy, Janet McIntyre and husband Ricky, Joe Harpe and wife Jessica, Emily Cornatzer and husband Scott, and James Read Plott; eight great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Levi, Jack and Teo Walker, Wyatt and Zoey Harpe, Katie Lou Cornatzer and Paisley Elizabeth McIntyre; loving caregivers, Doris Sloan, Carolyn Bright, Brenda Patterson and Lou Kiger, and special friends from Macedonia Moravian Church, Kathy Sparks who faithfully delivered CD's of weekly church services and Alice Sineath and Susan Gilbert who faithfully delivered holiday gift baskets. Mr. Plott served his country during WWII as a member of the US 3rd Army, 1st Armored Division, 7th Tank Battalion in North Africa and the European Theatre. He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1983 following 35 and a half years of service. Mr. Plott was a member and past master of Farmington Masonic Lodge 265. ""Jay Bird"" enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, aviation, and he was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. A graveside service with Masonic rites provided by Farmington Lodge 265 and Military rites provided by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 in ""God's Acre"" at Macedonia Moravian Church, where he was a member. The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at the Plott residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Moravian Church, 700 NC Hwy 801 N.
