James Donald Poe

Mr. James Donald Poe, age 59, of Pfafftown passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in Rockingham County, NC on December 22, 1954 the son of Stella Tilley Poe and the late Robert Frank Poe. Mr. Poe retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 25 years of service. He was an avid fan of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Carolina Panthers.

In addition to his father, Mr. Poe was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Mr. Poe is survived by his mother, Stella Poe; wife, Shanda Doss Poe; daughter, Jennifer Finney (Jed); son, James Bradley Poe; five grandchildren; sister, Wanda Spraker (John); brother, Tommy Poe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted 6:00 pm. Thursday, December 11 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Danny Hall officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
