James Pollard

Mr. James D. Pollard, age 92 of Mocksville passed away Sunday December 23, 2018.  He was born February 16, 1926 in Grayson County VA. to the late Charlie and Mallie Maines Pollard.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.  Mr. Pollard retired from McLean Trucking Company with 38 years of service.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Bowers Pollard.  Surviving are two sons, James D. Pollard, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant and Mark Pollard (Sharon) of Mocksville; three daughters, Deborah Wilson (Scott) of Rural Hall, Karen Riccio (David) of CT. and Sandra Smith (Jackie) of Advance; seven grandchildren, Lisa Henderson (Kevin), David Riccio, Jr. (Rachel), Clark Smith (Richie), Adam Riccio (Chelsea), Philip Smith (Margaret), Timothy Riccio and Katelyn Pollard; four great-grandchildren, Eloise, Isaac, Amaryllis and Zinnia and one brother, Thomas Pollard (Gladys) of Elk Creek, VA. and many nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Pastor Tracy Webb and Pastor Steve Stoltzfus.  Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
