James Mabe

Mr. James Ray Mabe, 78, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019. He was born in Rockingham Co. on May 27, 1941 the son of the late Coy Ray Mabe and Laura Nelson Mabe. James was of the Baptist faith. He worked various jobs before retiring from Thomasville Furniture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Tammy Broyhill Mabe and Sarah Tuttle Mabe. He is survived by two daughters, Dee Lawrence (Terry) and Karen Stephens (Ricky); two sons, Mike Mabe (Crystal) and Timmy Mabe (Michelle); 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Mabe, Faye White (Ken) and Shirley Ogburn; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Mark Dickens officiating. Burial will follow in Pinnacle Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 Saturday evening, September 28, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
