James Robert "Robbie" Scott, Sr.

James Robert “Robbie” Scott, 65, peacefully went into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Kernersville Medical Center surrounded by many family and friends. He was born on March 20, 1961, in Horry County, SC to the late Sidney Walker Scott and Denise Benton Scott.

Robbie was a faithful member of Kerwin Baptist Church where he was very active and serving The Lord.

Robbie was the proud owner of Scott Plumbing Company, LLC, since 1984 until his illness forced him to retire and close the business. He enjoyed working and helping people anyway he could.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Scott, whom he loved dearly and would do anything for her. In addition, he is survived by his children, Sandra Nichole Somers (Wes), James (Scooter) R. Scott, Jr.; stepchildren, Daniel Brown (Chasity), Megan James (Daniel), Morgan Jayne (David); 9 grandchildren; stepmom, Linda Scott; and sister, Cindy Cooper (Tim).

He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Walker Scott; mother, Denise Leggett; and sister, Debbie Griffin.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm and funeral service starts at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Kerwin Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Hawtree and Jacob Jarriel officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Mt. Gur Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kerwin Baptist Church at 4520 Old Hollow Rd., Kernersville, NC 27284.
