KERNERSVILLE- James Patrick Shanahan (JP), 84, of Kernersville, NC died on Monday, August 29, 2011. Born November 22, 1926 in Tazewell County Virginia to James Shanahan and Laurie Smallwood Shanahan, he was a long time resident of Kernersville. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Ruth Taylor Shanahan; brother, John Shanahan of Newport VA; sister, Joyce Moore of Chicago Illinois; four sons, Robert Shanahan (Patricia) Winston Salem, NC; Joe Shanahan (Susan) Jamestown, NC;John Shanahan (Debbie) Kernersville; Charles Shanahan (Kathy) Anderson, SC;daughter, Deborah Allman (Baxter) Oak Ridge, NC; grandchildren, Kimberly Shanahan; Brigette Pfister; Courtney Drake, Marcus Patrick Allman, Ruth Ann Kommers; great grandchild, Summer Stanley; brother-in-law, Cecil Taylor (Mary Gable Taylor)Kernersville; sister-in-law, Verta Carroll Tazewell, VA.
