James William Wheeler

James William Wheeler, 80, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Wheeler was born December 26, 1945, in Forsyth County, to G.W. “Jack” and Anna Williamson Wheeler. James proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and golf. James also enjoyed raising and showing chickens and won many awards for it. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Wheeler; and his siblings.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Beverly Ann Snyder Wheeler; one daughter, Tammy Turner (Kevin); two grandchildren, Courtney Keaton (Justin), and Savannah Slade; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Keaton and Adelaide Keaton.

A graveside service will be held 10am Friday, May 1, 2026, at Parklawn Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Chris Fitzgerald officiating.
