James Haven Wojciak, age 69, of Jamestown, North Carolina passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday morning November 3, 2015, at Brookstone Terrace in Clemmons, North Carolina. James was a loving husband and devoted father, as well as a proud Army veteran, botanist and graduate of the University of Central Florida and Rollins College. Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on December 13, 1945. Jim also lived in Hawaii, Germany, Texas, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Florida, and for the last 24 years in North Carolina. Jim had a particular love of Ireland and Irish culture and visited the Emerald Isle as often as possible. Jim also was an avid biker, swimmer and golfer. He retired from The Syngenta Corporation, Greensboro, North Carolina, after 30 years. James is survived by his wife, Star LaMorte Wojciak, son Derek Haven Wojciak and wife Armeda, grandson Tobias James Wojciak, mother Barbara Helene Johnson Wojciak, and brothers Richard Allen Wojciak and wife Janette and Donald Thomas Wojciak and wife Cynthia, Jim was preceded in death by his father and best friend James Stanley Wojciak. Jim's incredible kindness and warm sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Per Jim's wishes there will be no services and his final farewell will be in Ireland. The family would like to offer a special thank you to all of the staff at Brookstone Terrace and the Hospice Care Center team from Winston Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to University of Central Florida scholarship fund at ucffoundation.org or the Hospice Care Center at hospicecarecenter.org. All final arrangements are being handled by Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home of Winston Salem.
