James "Chris" Sweet

James Christopher “Chris” Sweet, age 54, from Lewisville, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2022, in his home from natural causes.

He graduated class of ‘86 from West Forsyth High School, and class of ‘92 from East Carolina University, where he participated in baseball, football and Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, later, becoming fraternity president. He studied engineering and steel construction, followed by a successful career as Project Coordinator in the tower industry. Chris loved watching sports, enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley and visiting the Outer Banks.

Chris is preceded in death by his father, James Lloyd Sweet.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Sweet; son, Jameson “CJ” Sweet; mother, Diann B. Sweet and step-father, Fred Hartledge; sister, Nicole Michelle Sweet; nephews and niece, Peyton Covington, Jordan Covington, and Sydnie Covington Merriman.  He was deeply loved by his family and friends. A celebration of life ceremony will be held in his honor early next year.
