James "Randy" Cottrell

Mr. James “Randy” Cottrell, 58, passed away on Friday, April 05, 2019 at his residence. He was born on April 27, 1960 in Forsyth County to James Harold Cottrell and Avalee Cottrell. Mr. Cottrell was a loving husband and father. He was a hard worker and was respected by all his coworkers at the NC Department of Transportation where he worked at for over 25 years. He would always begin his day with a Mt. Dew and a Goodies powder. He also enjoyed yardwork. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Dianna Cottrell; two sons, Chris and Josh Cottrell; one daughter, Crystal Sacco; his mother, Avalee Cottrell. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Randy Isom and Pastor Bryant Madren officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
