James Victor "Vic" Seivers

Mr. James Victor “Vic” Seivers, 96, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Feb. 23, 2019.  Vic was born Nov. 21, 1922 to Rosa Sell Seivers and John Boston Seivers in Forsyth County, raised on Hammock Farm Rd., graduated from Walkertown High School in 1939, and attended Draughon Business College. He worked at Armour & Co. for three years. He entered the US Army in Jan. of 1943, serving in Europe with the 87th Division during World War II, and was discharged in Dec. of 1945. He then returned to Armour and Co. until 1952. After attending electronics school for two years he opened his own business, Seivers Radio and TV, where he enjoyed a successful career spanning 50 years. He was a pioneer of citizens’ band (CB) radio in the Walkertown community. Vic had a quiet nature and a dry sense of humor. He loved playing sports with his kids and grandkids, including pitching horseshoes, football and baseball. More than anything, he took good care of his family. Vic was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Cromer Seivers; and a sister, Grace Seivers Martin. Surviving are his sons, James Victor Seivers, Jr.; and Jerry Eugene Seivers (Judy); grandchildren, James Victor Seivers, III, Julie Seivers Hudspeth (David); and John Christopher Seivers (Cathy); great grandchildren, Ashlyn and Brianna Seivers; a brother, Harvey W. Seivers (Betty); and many extended family members. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019 at Oak Grove Moravian Church with Pastor David Berrier officiating. Interment will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek is assisting the Seivers family.
