Jane Caudle

Jane Caudle, 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 1, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born January 31, 1938, to William Larkin Hutchins and Grace Hutchins Whitaker of Winston Salem. She was predeceased by her parents, two siblings (Gene Hutchins and William Hutchins), her aunts Adelaide Messick and Ethel Messick who had reared their young niece in their home, and son Jon Charles.

Jane married Raymond Caudle on February 2, 1956. They enjoyed a long and loving life together as a military family raising three children, traveling, and serving others.

Jane, known for her love for others, was dedicated to her family. Her home was always open to those in need, and her heart desired to serve her Savior. Until the very end, she prayed daily for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her greatest desire was that they all walk with the Lord she loved.

Jane is survived by her husband Raymond, children Craig Caudle and wife Debby and family of Georgia, Cris Johnson and husband Jeff and family of North Carolina, and Carole DeBruler and husband Greg and family of Florida.

Jane was known for her big heart and quick wit.  She was a strong, smart, and capable woman. She loved to read (a joy that she passed on to her children) and to do all types of arts, crafts, and handiwork. Although she was a stay-at-home mom when her children were younger, Jane had a long work history and had shared managerial positions with her husband Raymond at several establishments in the years after Ray’s retirement from the United States Air Force.

The family would like to especially thank Erika Guarnier for her loving care of our Mother and Granny in the last months and the Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their compassionate care for Jane and the entire family during the last weeks of her life.

With social distancing observed and mask requested, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Anchored in Jesus Baptist Church 5451 NC 268, Dobson, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to your local hospice.
