Jane Beeson Robertson, a woman of love and compassion, peacefully closed her eyes and embarked on her journey to be reunited with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 21, 2024. She was a remarkable soul who graced this world for a century, spreading joy and kindness wherever she went.
She was born on May 19, 1923, in Davidson County to the late Richard and Zella Mendenhall Beeson. She married Herman (Pete) Robertson in 1942, whose memory she cherished deeply even after his passing in 1972. She graduated from Wallburg High School in 1940. She worked at Hanes, WSFCS-cafeteria, Adams-Millis and Food Lion when she finally retired at the grand age of 87. Her heart found solace in the embrace of her cherished Fraternity Church of the Brethren, where she served in many roles and loved her church family.
Jane's zest for life knew no bounds. She poured her heart into her family, placing them above all else. Her list of hobbies was as extensive as her love for her loved ones: from crafting quilts and blankets for the hospital, sewing intricate garments, to nurturing her vibrant garden blooms, and exploring the vast expanse of all fifty states. Yet, her greatest joy came from showering affection upon her grandchildren, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, her 4 brothers, Ernest Beeson, Ray Beeson, Archie Beeson, and Allen Beeson and 3 sisters, Lillie Ingram, Edith Gordon, and Mary Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory, Richard Robertson (Kathy), Diane R. Gordon (Gray), her grandchildren Edward Gordon (Amanda), Stephanie Terrell (BJ), Chris Robertson, and Dr. Andrew Robertson (Kelsey), her 5 great-grandchildren, Landon and Alivia Terrell, Sophia Gordon, Blake and Hayes Robertson, and her sister Margie Glascoe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Jane’s life will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Fraternity Church of the Brethren with Pastor David Ansley officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials in Jane’s memory may be made to Trellis Supportive care at 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
