Jane Smith Sheets

Mrs. Jane Smith Sheets, 72, of Statesville went to be with her heavenly father on Friday, April 19, 2013. She was born April 27, 1940 in Forsyth County to Lester M. and Vira Jane Wood Smith. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was retired from Hinkle's Inc. and enjoyed spending time gardening and working in her yard, as well as spending time with her family. Jane was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Harmony, N.C. and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John C. Sheets, Jr. and a special nephew, Mark Mock. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Smith Sheets of Stokesdale and a son, Dwayne V. Hedgecock and wife, Lisa of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Johnny Sheets, Jr., Joseph Sheets and wife, Tabatha, Montgomery and Landon Hedgecock; three great grandchildren, Maicy, Evan, and Mattie Sheets; three stepsons, Johnny S. Sheets, Sr., Keith Sheets and Jeffrey W. Sheets. Also surviving are siblings, Margie Smith Cook, William (Bill ) Smith and wife, Hunter and James (Jim) Smith and wife, Jean; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
