Mrs. Janie Yokeley Weavil, 81, died on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at her residence. Janie was born on June 29, 1935, in Forsyth County, to Evans and Callie Yokeley. She was a member of The Church of Christ for over 60 years, as well as a member of the North Carolina Art Guild. She was a homemaker, loved her church, family, friends, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and furry friends. She was an artist, and painter, who enjoyed painting animals and flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger M. Weavil; and one daughter, Kathy Weavil May. Surviving are one son, Karl Weavil and wife Maricela; one daughter, Brenda Yost and husband Eddie; six grandchildren, Gerardo, David, Cory and wife Allison, Micah and wife Angela, Erin, and Seth; one brother, Gurney Yokeley and wife Sandra; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. James Percival officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
