Janna Elizabeth Less

SSgt Janna Elizabeth Less, 28, passed away at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, England on September 10, 2016. Janna was born on May 6, 1988 in Creston, IA. A member of the National Honor Society, and a class officer, she graduated from Kent County (MD) High School in 2006. Janna entered the U.S. Air Force in 2007. She served in Security Forces, with two tours of duty in Iraq, and earned a number of awards in recognition of her dedicated service. A life-long learner, Janna enjoyed exploring the history of England during her time spent there. She loved reading, and watching old movies. Her legacy is one of servanthood and excellence. Surviving are her loving parents, Rev. Dr. Keith Less and Denise Neyer Less; sister, Kiri Less of the home; brother, Eric Less (Shanna); nephew, Eric, Jr.; niece, Amaiya, all of Iowa City, IA; grandmother, Grace Less of Mountain Home, AR; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Mike Ramey officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 12:00 Noon - 1:45 p.m. Interment will be private at Salisbury National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 2415 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek chapel is assisting the Less family.
