Jason Alan Elder, 34, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015. He was born October 23, 1980 in Forsyth County. Jason was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Samuel Reid Mabe and paternal grandfather, Buford Curtis Elder. Surviving are his daughter, Shaylen Brie Elder; mother, Joan Mabe Blakely; father, Alan Curtis Elder; sister, Tracy Baker and husband, Scott; nephew, Jackson Baker; maternal grandmother, Trilba Hester; and paternal grandmother, Frances Elder; aunt, Sharon Elder; and uncle, Wayne Mabe (Sharon). A Funeral Service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 16 at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gammons and Rev. Vic Pyles officiating. Burial will follow at the Simmons Family Cemetery in Westfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 15 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
