Jason Shepherd

Jason Michael Shepherd, 35, of Winston-Salem, passed away and left this world to be with the Lord on March 8, 2019. Jason Shepherd was born on May 24, 1983 to Linnea and Philip Shepherd. He attended Parkland High School in 2002. Jason was passionate about cooking, coaching, and playing hockey. Jason loved being a father to his two girls and dreamed of traveling the world with his family. His bright smile and compassionate heart would light up any room he entered. His positive and motivating personality changed the lives of many people. Jason’s message and life goal was to bring happiness and equality for all. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Paul and Doris Shepherd and Roy and Lorraine Mackey, his aunt, Bonnie Mackey Taylor and Uncle Don Mackey. Jason leaves behind the light of his world, daughters, Arianna Meas and Kalliyan Meas; his best friend and brother, Joshua Shepherd; sister, Jennifer Rizutto; mother, Linnea Shepherd; father, Philip Shepherd and stepmother, Angela Shepherd; mother of his daughters, Lekhena Meas; cousins, Matt, Sarah, and Katie Taylor; uncles, Michael Mackey and wife Sharon Mackey and Adam Mackey. Additionally, he leaves behind his best friends, Erick and Jessie Balseca, Zane Hamby, David Tran, Seth Hancock, Mustafa Abdullah, Brad Wall, Stella Eugenio; and all of his hockey and school friends that he loved so dearly. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family of Jason Shepherd will hold a private funeral on Thursday, March 14th, 2019, at Christ's Beloved Community. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mr. Shepherd.
