KERNERSVILLE - Jean Nelson Barnes, 81, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home. She was born July 12, 1932 in Forsyth Co., to the late Robah and Mary Brown Nelson. Jean attended Kernersville Friends Meeting and retired from Kaiser-Roth after 55 years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace Barnes; two brothers and three sisters. Surviving are her three sons, James Garrett Barnes and wife, Judy of Hamilton, AL, Ronald Barnes and wife, Sharon of Lexington, Daren Barnes and wife, Susan of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Shane Barnes, Jared Barnes, Morgan Barnes, Cameron Barnes, and Allison Barnes; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Camile Barnes. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Jerry Gibbons officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be made to Relay for Life Kernersville Event 2014, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407 in Memory of Jean Barnes. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
