Jean Guy Booze

Mrs. Jean Guy Booze, age 95 of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Booze was born in Macon County, NC March 17, 1921 to Thomas Furman Guy and Minnie James Morrison Guy. She was of the Baptist faith. Our mother was a survivor with a work ethic that had its roots in the mountains of North Carolina. Her vegetable gardens and flower beds were the best around. Gran was a force to be reckoned with and we will miss her. In addition to her parents Mrs. Booze was preceded in death by her husband, Hilary R. Booze, one sister, Bonnie Thompson and one brother, Paul Guy. Mrs. Booze is survived by two daughters; Martha (Ron) Taylor of Clemmons and Sandra (Mike) Thomas of High Point. Two sons; Tony Booze of Winston-Salem and Michael (Paula) Booze of Walnut Cove. Four grandchildren: Merrily Taylor Wyrick , Melissa Taylor Gray, Ross Thomas and Harris Thomas. Two great-grandchildren; Caroline and Caitlin Wyrick. One sister, Doris Long of Winston-Salem and one brother, Bob (Kay) Guy of Franklin, NC. Several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall by Rev. John Holmes. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge, P.O. Box 77914, Greensboro, NC 27417 or to St. Jude Children Hospital c/o Tri-Delta at U of A, 3847 East Chatsworth Road, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
