Mrs. Jean Evans Carter, 68, of Bermuda Run, passed away suddenly at her residence. She was born on July 29, 1948 in Rowan County to George Ernest and Lois Cain Evans. Mrs. Carter was a beacon of light for so many and she truly loved everyone she met. She inspired countless others to take the time out of their day and care for one another. She gave everything of herself without question. She was sharp-witted and with a delightfully off-kilter sense of humor. She adored spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her family will never be without her presence in their lives, for she loved her Lord & He has provided her with everlasting life in Heaven! Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Ken Carter of the home; three children, Amy Holland of Canton, Seth Carter and wife Jessie of Advance, and Daniel Carter also of Advance; four grandchildren, Grayson, Jackson, Sophie, and Mason; two brothers, Bill Evans, Steve Evans and wife Peggy; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Fork Baptist Church in Mocksville with Rev. Robert Garrett officiating. Mrs. Carter will lie-in-state in the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
