Jean Giles

Mrs. Jean Owen Giles, 80, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018. She was born July 15, 1937 in Burke Country to the late Clarence Manly Owen Sr. and Ruby Keith Owen. The best way to describe Jean is that she was "Larger" than life itself. She was the spokesperson for the American Red Cross Iron Lung Program for Polio when she was young. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Giles and two sisters, Martha Spark and Laura Pfister. She is survived by her brother, Clarence M. Owen Jr. (Barbara); her daughter, Cathy Lawson (Don); three grandchildren: Trinity Yanez (Judy), Brandon Yanez, and Jordan Lawson (Laura); two great-grandchildren, Khalel and Maria; and her special friends and caregivers: Shirley Livingston, Edwina Hickman, Adrianne Livingston, and Keyavia Dowing.
