Jean Martin Lumley

Mrs. Jean Martin Lumley was called home to our Lord on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born February 5, 1939, to the late William and Wilma Lee Martin.

Jean was a graduate of Hanes High School where she was a majorette and played softball. She enjoyed watching all types of birds especially hummingbirds outside her window at home and always ensured the bird feeders were full.

Our beloved mother, nana, great nana, sister, aunt and friend will be remembered for her faith, kindness, gentle soul as she was a source of love and warmth to everyone who knew her. Jean leaves behind a family who will cherish her memory and the incredible enduring love she gave to each of us.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Lumley; daughter, Kimberly Key (Jeff); granddaughter, Heather Kearns (Sam); grandson, Christian Key (Lupita); her three great grandsons, Emmett, Emmanuel and Emmiliano; sister, Donna Cranfill (Rex); and nephews and nieces. Jean deeply loved her family and friends whom each held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; brothers, Bobby Martin and Dennis “Tony” Martin; and sister, Peggy Messick.

You may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time. We ask in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in her name to The Kidney Foundation.

Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mrs. Lumley.
