Jeanette Orrell Cornatzer

Mrs. Jeanette Orrell Cornatzer, 75, of Advance passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Jeanette was born in Davie County on July 11, 1938 to John and Maybelle Markland Orrell. She was a lifelong and active member of Advance United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Jeanette was a very involved member of the community and spearheaded the Shady Grove High School reunion of all graduating classes. She was an accomplished seamstress who also loved to garden and attend the theater with her friends. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard ""Red"" Cornatzer. She is survived by two daughters, Lelia Cornatzer Gray (Jay) of Winter Haven, FL, and Julia Cornatzer Nichols (Robert) of Advance; four grandchildren, Erin and Jack Gray, and Catherine and Gray Nichols; a sister, Lynn Orrell Owens (Ben); and a brother Frank Orrell (Dianne). Jeanette treasured her large family and her many beloved friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Advance United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cheryl Skinner officiating. Following the burial, the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall.
