Jeanette Carol Smith Deveau

Jeanette Carol Smith Deveau, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was born on April 5, 1944, in Forsyth County to the late Everette Lee Smith and Bertha Smith. Jeanette was known for her immense love for living creatures. She was definitely an animal person and was a supporter of the Humane Society. She also loved her family dearly, and each loved one was uniquely special to her. Jeanette was so proud of her loved ones and took pride in the fact that she was a great aunt as well as a great-great aunt. 

In addition to her parents, Jeanette is preceded in death by her niece, Christy Smith. 

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Phillip Smith (Sharon); a nephew, Phil Smith Jr.; a niece, Jill Smith Ogburn (Jeff); many special great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Betty Rogers.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or The Humane Society at 4881 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
