Jerry Keith Ball, 69, of Kernersville, NC passed away on June 13, 2026, at his home, filled by his loving family, after facing an 18-month battle of pancreatic cancer. Keith was born on September 17, 1956, in Tazewell County, VA to the late Sterling Gene Ball and Clauda Hale Ball. Keith graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1974. He married his soul mate, Deborah Lu Fulk, on July 18, 1981. For over 40 years he was a railroader. After retirement he dedicated his time to caring for his family, and enjoying adventures with his Great Dane, Remington. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his infant sister Melanie Zoe Ball.
Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 44 years Deborah Fulk Ball; two sons, Wesley Keith Ball and Daniel Taylor Ball; one daughter, Laura Ball Lineberry, and husband Jade; 7 grandchildren, Jordan Ball, Sara Ball, Emma Ball, McKinley Ball, LaMontaye Rice, Austin Ball, and Elias Lineberry; one brother, Charles Edward Ball, and wife Mitzi; nieces and nephews, and very special in-laws.
Keith lived by his faith in Jesus and had a humble spirit. He was a hard-working provider, known for his reserved nature and strong character. His unwavering love, care, and devotion to his family was evident throughout his life. Keith was loved by everyone who knew him. Always sharing wisdom with his children and grandchildren. He was a giver to others and never wanting to ask for anything. The loving presence he brought to those around him will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be conducted at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel on Thursday, June 18th, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Bro. Steve Roberson and Bro. Brian Vanderford officiating. A graveside service to follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 17th from 6 to 8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
