Jerry Wayne Buckner

Mr. Jerry Wayne Buckner, 67, of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his home. He was born April 10, 1945 in Winston-Salem, the son of the late, Herburt Lee and Ina Matthews Buckner. Mr. Buckner attended Griffith High School. He lived most of his life in Washington, DC before returning to Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmie Lee Buckner and Robert Douglas Buckner and a nephew, Jeffrey DeWayne Greer. Survivors include one sister, Barbara Buckner Renegar of Winston-Salem; three nephews, Michael Greer, Christopher Buckner and Jimmy Buckner; three nieces, Susan Joyce, Kimberly Shepherd, and Jennifer Buckner; three great nieces, Brittany Joyce, Kayla Greer and Lydia Greer; and one great-great nieces, Eden Joyce. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway.
