Jerry Vernon Marshall, Jr.

Jerry “Jay” Vernon Marshall, Jr., 64, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born to Jerry Vernon Marshall, Sr. and Georgia Woody Thomas on August 10, 1961, in Forsyth County.

Jay graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1979. While attending school he played football and was a member of the track team. Jay enjoyed many hobbies such as drawing, being outdoors, and building things with his hands. He never met a stranger and will be remembered for always joking around and acting goofy. Overall, Jay was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and son to all of those he left behind.

In addition to his parents, Jay is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Moore Marshall; daughters, Samantha Marshall, and Tabitha Marshall; step-children, Amanda (John), Brandy, and Tara; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Deborah Lambert (Scott); nieces, Heather Link, Brooke Norman (Tyler); great-nephew, Stewart Norman; and step-siblings, Chet Walker, Patty Walker, Marci Robinson, and Jamie Mayer.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. Officiating the service is Pastor Ashlee Decker.
