Jerry Allen Morene

Winston-Salem – Jerry Allen Morene, 85, peacefully left his earthly body and entered into the presence of his Lord on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on June 9, 1939, in Alamance County to the late Lewis, Sr. and Lula Adkins Morene. He notably served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Jerry was a truck driver for 51 years and was very proud of his work. He loved many things; Atlanta Braves baseball, Westerns, and being a jokester, but more than anything else, his family. Jerry was devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He loved the Lord with all his heart and had a deep concern for other’s salvation. Jerry will surely be missed by so many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis Morene, Jr., Henry Morene, and Joe Morene; and three sisters, Verna Flowers, Decala Pike, and Wanda Morene.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 41 years, Melinda Cox Morene; three children, Angela Morene (Scott Hamby), Lori Grant (Michael), and Troy Morene (Stacie); seven grandchildren, Joshua (Caryn), Taylor (Morgan), Victoria (Alec), Tyler, Savannah, Lola, and Allie; one great grandchild, Olivia; two brothers, Howard Morene, and Billy Morene (Lorene); and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, August 30, 2024, at Welcome Door Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:15 pm prior to the service. Interment will take place at Gardens of Memory – Walkertown following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
