Jerry Lee Phibbs

Mr. Jerry Lee Phibbs, 53, of Advance passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at his home. He was born May 18, 1955 in Forsyth County to Murray Lawson Phibbs and Betty Phibbs Shelton. Mr. Phibbs attended Fellowship Baptist Church and worked for Taylor Brothers Tobacco Company for 15 years. He loved to drag race especially at Farmington. He was a loving husband and best friend, father, grandfather and brother. Mr. Phibbs was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Surviving him is his wife, Darlene Cope Phibbs; a daughter, Melissa Phibbs; four grandchildren, Tyler Phibbs, Brandon Shrewsbury, Isiah Shrewsbury and Kimberla Powers; a sister, Teresa (Roy) Beck; two brothers, Terry (Tina) Phibbs and Danny (Teresa) Phibbs; special nieces and nephews and many loving friends. A funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Swisher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
